Dragoncon tips

I will be at Dragoncon this coming weekend helping my wife in the art show (www.mysticreflections.com).  Fortunately we have friends that help us out so that we don’t have to miss the entire con.  So let me just give you a few tips for Dragoncon.

Tip 1: Hydrate- It’s hot, very hot and there are lots of people around.  Fortunately in the art rooms and dealer rooms and dispersed throughout the halls are containers containing (as containers do) cold water.  My recommendation is to bring a bottle and fill up when you come to these.  Stay hydrate so that you don’t pass out from dehydration.

Tip 2: Plan ahead- The Dragoncon pocket program is available for download on your computer or iPhone.  Take advantage of this to learn what panels you’d like to attend so you can map out your course through the hotels and rooms.  This will prevent you from either not finding your way or missing the panel because you didn’t utilize the pocket program.

Tip 3: Take the Time- This may seem like a simple idea but you should make sure you set aside enough time for what you enjoy most.  If you’re there for the panels, that isn’t too hard because they are timed and you can easily enjoy them.  If art is your passion, make sure you have enough time so that you don’t have to hurry through the art show and if you want to catch some of the film festival then I’d make sure to get in line for the show early (these tend to fill up fast due to the size of the room).  Don’t kick yourself for having to rush through the part of the con you looked forward to the most.  Again the pocket program can help you with this.

So those are my three tips for Dragoncon.  Hopefully I’ll see you there.  Have fun.
